I’m definitely noticing a change in my world in the first week of detox from Facebook. To be completely honest, my account is still active, but I’m not logging into it. Sure, I’m not getting everything as it happens, but not having so much static to wade through has been excellent for getting my brain cleared out.
Net result: becoming more and more comfortable in my own skin and able to filter out the noise I don’t need to be hearing/seeing/experiencing.
It’s been a bit of a mixed bag this week – good and bad, but the bad is more things that can’t be immediately resolved, but I’ve done my part to start the fix. I’m still trying to find some summer weight paints that fit. I’m a huge fan of the rayon harem pants that can be obtained from your friendly dealer on eBay or Etsy, but unfortunately, the two I’ve purchased from this summer haven’t exactly had the most accurate measurements of their products. I’m trying one more time – I have a message out to return the last set I bought, and another message out to a seller I bought from in 2014 and re-found to see if their measurements are correct.
Part of the issue is that I have a booty and some killer quads, so the Amazon here has to be particularly aware of weird measurements. Also, there seems to be a trend for yoked waistbands – which takes out half the elastication, and thus any wiggle room one has. The last seller I bought from, and whose pants arrived this week, definitely has some issues with their measurements, since supposedly one can get 40″ hips into the pants through a 32″ waist. Yeah. That didn’t work so well. I thought about doing some alterations to them, and picked up some fabric with which to add some room, but decided really, I didn’t want to have to redo the damn pants to be able to wear them. So the message is out re: a return, and hopefully, we’ll get that all straightened out soon. It just irritates me that I’ve pretty much used the crazy heat part of the summer just trying to find the things, but my skirts have served me well.
The other major annoyance this week has been product delivery for a Kickstarter I backed in March. As a crazy cat lady, I backed at a level to get three of the litter boxes, but when the shipment arrived yesterday, I have a total of one. Again, another thing that I can’t immediately fix, but I have sent a message asking where the other two are, since it’s counter-intuitive to have shipped them separately, plus I don’t have any other shipping notices/tracking numbers. We’ll see how this resolves itself as well. Hopefully I’ll know more by Wednesday at the latest.
Balancing out those annoyances, I had a great private pole lesson yesterday, and I’ll be going through those highlights on the Dainty Bitch Skin blog. The summary is that I’ve got the whole theory behind superman, and now, it’s just a matter of pulling the shoulder blade down to get it to where I can have photos of my nemesis move for the last two years. I’m thrilled. In other news, I surprised my piercer at her new shop yesterday for a consult on a philtrum/medusa piercing, and found that I’ve got anatomy that the medusa will work well with. I just have to get mentally ready to deal with 3 weeks of annoyance while it starts healing. I’m also probably going back to my ear project as well, to finish up what I started about 18 months ago, and just left alone to see if it’d settle down. It’s healed nicely, and should be ready for its additional friends.
Work is likewise going well. I’ve been in my new position for almost 2 months, and it’s so nice to be busy *and* Feel like I’m actually getting something accomplished, rather than prepping reports that no one reviewed or paid any attention to. It wears me out, so I’ve been slacking on my physical training, but hopefully soon, I’ll be consistent on my flex and strength work.
We’ll keep on working towards the goals and spreading the love and joy.
