So, as the year progresses, I’m moving further and further away from being online. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not good for my updating the site regularly. I am happy to announce that I will be offering basic fringe shimmy belts here soon, as I do have an in-action shot from the Grinduation performance. Also, I’m working on developing other items to be made available here once research and construction testing is complete.
The CynDiscretion labs are also in a phase of reorganization and moving – from my kitchen table to a currently un-used back bedroom, so hopefully, there’ll be more excitement and *more space* from giving them their own location.
Otherwise, things are pretty standard – I’m still pushing my limits with aerial, I can’t tell you how much stronger I’ve gotten over the last eight weeks, and still taking my other classes, although I am tightening my focus a bit, thanks to some discussions with the amazing Nipsy Tussle, and how I’ve been pushing my own ideas and projects to the side to focus my contributions to others’ creative projects.
As a result of the awareness of this particular issue, and Nipsy’s desire to not shelve what yours truly wants to do, I’ve accepted a redesigned role within the Follies Girls, serving as more of a consultant and general resource of stage management info and organizational power, while the perFollies (those that you’ll see performing on stage) take more ownership in and personal responsibility for the troupe. I’m intrigued to see where Nipsy’s plans go, but moving the troupe to a more professional mindset can only be a good thing, after the issues in the last show.
Nonetheless, I’m cutting back on what I’m participating in, reducing the number of classes, as there are some I was taking that just aren’t my thing. I’ve decided I don’t want to waste the energy on frustration and being dissatisfied with the class, no matter how good it is for technique, and so I’ve dropped at least one from my weekly schedule, and there’s a very definite possibility there will be a second one removed, at least for this six-week session.
I do have another number in the works, so if you’ve been missing burlesque-y Cyn, keep your fingers crossed. She should reappear at some point later this year. We’ll see how well I can clean projects off my plate, as the sewing is a bit crazy stacked right now.
Don’t forget, y’all… always leave them wanting more!
