Happy Holi-daze!

2012’s rolling to an end pretty darn quickly, and we’re still in the midst of the holiday season – for all of my Southern Baptist upbringing, I may have to make some latkes to continue my deep appreciation of the culinary traditions of Hanukkah.

A pretty large project is currently on my cutting table, one that I’m simultaneously exhilarated and terrified by.  More will be revealed later, I’m sure. I’m not sure how much of a chance I’ll get to blog for the remainder of the year, so this may be it for 2012.

My personal challenge for the year is rolling to a close, as well, with the last class of the Burlesque Academy taking place this week, with Grinduation scheduled for January 26th.  I’m also looking forward to starting the challenge for 2013, which I’ve determined will be familiarizing myself with and studying aerial dance. It’s beautiful, and I am absolutely amazed by aerialists, and with there being a group here that teaches and performs, I figured it was time for me to test it out. So, 2013, I will be throwing down the gauntlet and trying my hand (feet, body, etc.) at aerial dance.  Additional benefit is the upper body and core work that it will require.  Certainly, I’m not going to be able to just pop up there and be brilliant on the first try, so I’m planning to work my way into it, with Q1 devoted to the aerial fitness class to work on the upper body strength, after which, I’ll make the determination if Q2 will be the actual dancing or if I’ll continue to develop that strength.

So, that now begs the question….what are you doing as your annual challenge for 2013?

Happy Holidays to you and yours, and always leave them wanting more!
