Another busy week. But now… we start adding a bass line.
Bass lessons started for me today, and the instructor I’ve found seems to be fantastic. He translated a lot of the basics into piano terms, so I’m feeling quite a bit more aware/knowledgeable about them. Also, he gave some technique bits and pieces that I really needed, so that’s another benefit. Currently on Amazon order is a blues basics book he recommends as an excellent foundation builder that we can work through. Some homework to work on, plus some techniques to practice, which I’ll start on tomorrow. It’s taking me back to being 8 and starting piano lessons, which is not a bad thing. Learning is fun!
A crazy busy week at work – being busy is good, although there were a couple times this week that I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. Even so, my manager is an amazing lady, and she was kind enough to significantly compliment me this week, which does my little heart good.
In other news, I’ve been hitting my training hard again and if you’re interested, that discussion’s over at Dainty Bitch Skin. Pole private today was pretty awesome – I popped up into a superman on both sides pretty fluidly, although didn’t quite get the pole oriented where it needed to be, but the progress continues.
I’m really enjoying the headspace – even if there have been a few unexpected bumps in the road today. I’m sure everything will settle itself down in the next day or two.
