I know, I know… there’s still 2 more weeks left in the year, but today’s the day I’m taking stock of things.
Goals from January 2016:
Front Splits – not quite there, but progress is still being made. I think I’ve figured out how to get the last 3″, so should be full touch down on both sides before mid-2017, but definitely before end of 2017.
Straddle Splits – definite progress here. Forward motion continues. I don’t really have a time frame on this one, it’s a “nice to have” goal. Even so, the 2016 goal was to make progress, and I have, so SUCCESS!
Back Bends/Bridges – also definite progress. The shoulder rehab’s gone so much further as a result of the work I’m doing on this goal. 2016 goal was to move forward, and definite SUCCESS on that one.
Superman/Side Saddle Superman – Not pretty, but I can do them both. SUCCESS!
Bike – heh. Yeah, still in a holding pattern. Stage is set for 2017.
Shoulder Rehab – So much progress, so thrilled. I’m still not 100%, but they’re so much stronger and so much more flexible. SUCCESS!
Back Burner Goals:
Poi – I’ve been wanting to get backwards three-beat weave, and I did, when Claire offered classes in early 2016. SUCCESS!
Cross Stitch – the saga continues. Finding the motivation with all the other things I’m working on is difficult. Progress intermittent.
Bits and Pieces:
Started bass guitar lessons, loving it
Started hoop dance lessons, also loving it
Committed to going to my first big-time pole event – Cleo’s Rock ‘N Pole High School in July 2017.
Moved into a new career field – Information Security
New facial piercing – medusa/philtrum in October. Still healing, but it’s pretty
New hair – committed to an undercut, and then the lovely and talented Camile is practicing her razor/dye skills on it.
I’m pretty pleased with what I’ve accomplished this year. Sure, I didn’t get everything done, but there simply isn’t enough energy in my body to do it all. And that’s okay.
