I should probably update the audience re: the lab’s developments over the last little bit. Obviously, I’m picking up speed in staying way too busy and being way too conscientious about taking naps to recover, rather than working in the lab.
I’m working on custom horns – I have a couple of prototype sets made, and have already explored one way to attach them, which was an-almost complete failure, so back to the drawing board and to suppliers to see what other attachment methods I can figure out. I’m contemplating modifying a headband to make it so you can exchange the horns, but we’ll have to do some serious prototyping for that.
Another minor accessory or two are also in the works – they’re extremely simple, just time consuming, with pearl trims on chokers. My personal preference is to have the trimming on grosgrain ribbon, so that one has an extremely simple look that can be topped off with the bow to close the necklace/bracelet/headband off to one side. Why no, I’m not obsessed with asymmetry, why do you ask?
Also, working on tribal belly dance belts – one’s sitting on the worktable waiting for inspiration to strike regarding the decoration thereof, and as a result, the bra top to match is similarly waiting for inspiration while I work out the kinks in the pattern to make it less fall-out-able. Fortunately, I have a spare set of parts cut out, so I just need to start playing with them to see what I can come up with – I think it’s just a matter of closing the cleavage gap in between the cups, but I may also install a better foundation and put structured cups in the cups to see if that helps as well.
Photos, as always, still need to happen, but I do need to get pieces to a finalized state for them to be worth an audience’s time.
In my world, I’m looking at starting social craft nights, as well as offering sewing guidance for folks who aren’t completely confident in their abilities or completely comfortable with their machine. My studio’s in a state of suspended animation, regarding finishing up the modifications, but they will be complete – at some point. Progress is slow, but it’s where I can work in it anyway, so the mirrors and such are just icing on the cake. In my continuing quest to push my own limits, I’m still taking aerial fitness and still having fun while having my ass kicked in the classes, and at some point, I’ll add to it and take one of the more choreography-based classes, but another opportunity arose in the process, and so I’m trying my hand at pole. Honey, you would not believe how well I can bruise. It’s incredibly fun, yet incredibly hard work, and in combination with the aerial, my upper body is getting some serious attention – and my arms look amazing.
Hope everyone’s doing fabulously, and always leave them wanting more!
