I should probably just quit trying to write a blog for the site, since my schedule’s generally pretty routine, and no one wants to see the same summary every week. I’ll document some highlights of the last couple months, but I think after this post, unless there’s something amazing, I’ll be moving the twitter feed to a more central point. For some reason, I can toss out 144 characters relatively easily, but when it comes to writing entertaining blog posts, it’s more of a chore.
Nonetheless, after 9 months of preparation with the aerial fitness classes, I’ve finally taken my first “pretty” silks class. My lats are so pissed at me, and even more so after last night’s pole class, that I’m pretty sure they’re trying to leave my body. I don’t feel like a complete fool in the class, which is always a plus, and it doesn’t bruise as much as pole, so on those two fronts, it does have an edge. I’m definitely making progress on both aerial and pole, so I’m pleased with that, but my body’s been extremely unhappy with pole, thanks to an allergic reaction to the adhesive on my insulin pump sites, and overworked wrists and arms, largely due to how the new aerial and my pole classes line up in the schedule. After working the hell out of wrists and arms on Monday night, they’re just not ready to do it again on Wednesday. Never say die, and so I’m now on a mission to strengthen those wrists and forearms, and hopefully, the results will be seen pretty soon. I’ve found some things I can do with a water bottle several times a day while I’m at work, so maybe the intermittent weight training during the day will make it a smidge speedier.
Life overall’s been a bit full of frustration and disappointment in the last bit, but it looks like it’s just a bit of construction on my road, rather than a complete funding cut on paving.
Always leave them wanting more!
